when people mispronounce his middle name, basil, even though they often do. instead of (baze-le) like the herb, it's pronounced (baz-le) like the saint, or like the word spaz.

HABITS: pulling his hair. it's a terrible habit but it's one he does to keep himself calm in uncomfortable or painful situations which is why he grew it out. there was more to yank at and having longer hair hid the patches where his hair was thinning.
sleeping alone. because of an incident that happened years ago, he refuses to let anyone sleep in a bed with him unless he's obviously just had sex with them. it's a space issue with him. if you try to cuddle up to him in bed he literally shoves you out. if he wakes up next to someone unfamiliar they get a very unpleasant reaction.
STRENGTHS: garrett here is very understanding and sympathetic. if you're going through a hard time, he's your go to guy. he's very good at giving advice and just lending a shoulder to cry on.
he is also extremely intelligent. he spent a lot of his time tutoring his twin sister ginny, so a lot of his time was spent on his studies.
WEAKNESSES: schizophrenia. just last year gare was diagnosed with mild paranoid schizophrenia, which to his relief, explained a lot of his childhood. but now it hinders him from leading a normal life, and haunts him everyday, as no one in his life really knows. he's told ginger small detail about it, but nothing too thorough.
overboard. garrett isn't a huge party boy, but when he gets the opportunity, he goes totally over the edge, drinking purely to get drunk, and taking anything just to get blasted.
SECRETS: he attempted suicide when he was 17

OVERALL: garrett here is quite opposite to his twin sister ginger. he's a bit quieter, more introverted, quite the intellect, and odd is an understatement for him. garrett's a bit...well...fucked in the head. he has a kind of dark, gloomy personality deep down that you pick up hints of. he likes to traipse around cemeteries, spends most of his time in old libraries studying the Victorian era and reading edgar allan poe. he's highly impartial to bright colours and sunlight. he's not totally off though. for the most part he acts like any normal 19 year old man. he's just a bit of a loner and can be very jumpy at times because of his illness. he goes to parties probably about once a week and just totally outdoes himself each time. he's been hospitalized more than a few times for accidental overdoses and alcohol poisoning. But will all his little quirks and oddities aside, once you warm him up he's very loving, attentive, fun, and caring.

OVERALL: garret's childhood wasn't all that bad, but it's certainly wasn't nice to say the least. garrett is 2 minutes older than his twin sister ginny, but sometime he feels like it's 2 years with how protective he is of her. a lot of his teenage memories consist of waiting until ginger fell asleep to confront his father about how he treated her. often times confrontations such as this ended in physical altercations, some of which he won, other's in which his father won. as a child, there was a notable difference between garrett and his sister. ginger was always very bubbly and happy whereas garret was very twitchy, jumpy, and would often complain of "having nightmares" despite being fully awake. his mother, a very complacent peaceful soul, overlooked this issue due to her husbands tyranny. obviously as he got older, he got a bit more bold, stopped talking about his "nightmares" and made taking care of his sister his top priority. when she was diagnosed with add he took on the responsibly of studying enough for both of them so that he could help tutor her. as garrett grew older he took a lot of interest in the dark ages, medieval torture, and the victorian era, which all sparked his now gloomy mind set. but because he didn't want to burden his sister or have to deal with his dad about his more than abnormal state of mind, he turned to occasional substance abuse to keep himself quiet. one night though, his abuse got out of hand. he can't remember much, and doesn't talk about what he does remember, but all anyone really knows is that he and his sister woke up one morning in the same bed totally naked. this scared garrett half to death, thinking about what he could have done to the only person he promised to protect. soon after the twins birthday, while on a "vacation" he had taken himself on he attempted suicide. no one in his life as of now knows about that, but garrett's never really been the same. he tucked everything into a neat little pocket in his mind and quietly accepted the drum tech offer so he could be better brother to ginny and actually protect her this time.
