With a first look, one would find Jacob to be a sweetheart. He has a humor on him that sometimes can be quirky and may not make sense, but he always finds a way to get a kick out of it. His humor can be outlandish and really you either like it or you don't. As to being witty, he is quite intelligent. This can add to his humor at times, which can be where he tends to lose people.
Many of times you will be able to see him with some type of smile as to denote to his friendly nature. He is a social person and likes to be among many. He is laid back and likes to just hang around in certain areas and strike up a conversation with random people. He can be quite opinionated and will not be afraid to say his view on things. He will not try to convince a person on anything, but he will put up a good argument about it though.
While he is a good guy all around, sometimes he can be too good. Friends of his have to deal with his protectiveness, especially women that are close to him. Based on what he has lost in his past it has played a role on this. He can and will hold grudges on people that messes with any of his friends/family. It will pretty much be pointless to try to not have him this way as he is not one to forget things.

OVERALL: Jake was born in Manhattan, New York, on March 23. Jacob, like many children, was an accident. His father never really wanted a third child, and with both of their ages it could have been an awful outcome for both mother and child. Setting aside minor complications, Jacob was born healthy despite what many thought. With two older siblings that were more than ten years his senior, Jacob essentially grew up as an only child. His sister ran off with her then boyfriend when she was seventeen after a fight with their farther. By then his brother was already out of college and starting a career for himself. He was a normal kid growing up with friends that lasted throughout high school.
More of a quiet child, it was in high school where he actually became the sociable person that he is. Living in New York you really do not go to the school that is closest to you, but rather which school carries your ability. Jake and his group of friends attended a preparatory school in Manhattan. The Upper School portion of the school is where the high school students attended. Jacob did the regular high school thing, hanging out with friends, keeping up with grades, etc. In the middle of sophomore year things changed up a bit for him. Enter Abigail Andrews, a Canadian transfer student who's mother had enough of her. Abby was not your A+ student, she had attitude issues and a mouth to go along with it. After being expelled from her preparatory school from a fight with another girl she was shipped off to live with her sister and distant father. The only reason why she had gotten back into a prep school was because her father had to pull strings for her.
Even though Abby hated the move, she came to find that her father was not the man that her mother had painted for her and embraced the new country. Her reputation did precede her in her new school as soon as the girl walked into the school doors. Rumors spread, because after all, this is high school and Abby was just strewn off to the side as a social outcast. In a cliquish prep school like theirs' it could be social suicide to make friends with someone that did not fit in. Abby had always detested blonde girls who were dumb as a doorknob and used their body to boost themselves up on the popularity scale. As a natural blonde, she continually dyed her hair the red that everyone knew her for as far back as fifteen. She often mislabeled everyone for being an idiot, it could have been one of the many reasons that she was not accepted into her new school. When Jake first saw her, he decided to break the barrier and hang out with her in class to the dismay of his friends. It was not long after that he was trying to impress and flirt with her, Abby often flirting right back. Eventually people began to become more accepting of her and she joined Jake's friend group where she was a quirky edition to their dynamic party.
Jake finally asked Abby out several weeks after she had been hanging out with them, not to his surprise she said yes. With complimenting personalities they went together perfectly. Dating came second nature to them as if they have been for years. At the end of Jake's junior year, Abby graduated and began attending NYU studying film studies. While Abby was attending college Jacob was busy finishing up his final year before college. In the winter he was offered to study abroad with a French sister school in Paris, France. With a love of the city he of course said yes. Several of his friends were also invited on the trip as well and they found ways around their exchange families to have fun on the Parisian streets. When Jake got back though he was brought to a rather large surprise, Abby was three months pregnant. She had not wanted to tell him during his stay away from the states, so she had waited until he was back.
Everyone was a little set back by this but were happy for them. Of course Abby's parent and Jacob's mother were not too ecstatic, they welcomed the thoughts of a grandchild. Soon after Abby told Jacob that she was pregnant he asked her to marry him just a few days after he graduated from high school. On June 17th that was when their son was born to the world. The little family of three began right then and there. They lived like a normal family would and would have occasionally have a few guests over at their Manhattan town house. Sebastian was always a happy child, with all of his parents' friends and their two animals to hang out with. While going to school Abby began planning her wedding. It was one of the most feminine things about her, her life long dream of a perfect wedding. The wedding was going to be in January roughly after Christmas. As time grew on though, Jacob had acquired the flu pretty bad that year and ultimately acquired pneumonia. After Christmas he had to be hospitalized due to the degree of his sickness. Days went and came, including their wedding date, but Jacob was not showing signs of getting better quickly.
It was not until one afternoon that things seemed to have changed. One afternoon, Abby who had usually came by by now still was not here. It was as if everyone but her was her and their son. Later that day he had found out that Abby and Sebastian had gotten in a car accident where they both died shortly after. The family that he had known was now gone. This new loss turned Jacob into a different person, one who did not care about anything including himself. This path of self destruction had gone unnoticed by his father and brother, but his mother, and Abby's sister, Sadie saw it. Even his sister, Melinda, whom had been estranged from her family for many years. But the day that everything changed was the night that Jacob almost killed himself. Thankfully for him, Melinda had time on her side when she barely caught what he was going to do. When you lose something so near and dear to you you feel like you have nothing left, but one also has to realize that this was not the way that the newly departed would want them to live like.
Wanting a change in his life, he moved to Chicago. This is where he met Roxanne. There was a certain chemistry to them that they just shared. After talking about similar music tastes like David Bowie, they began to start working out plans to create a band. Hence where To The Moon was created. Working together only made them realize more and more after each day that they felt a lot more than just band mates and friendship. They ended up eloping and touring as a duo where they are today.
