{ FEEL IT COMIN' IN THE AIR AND THE SCREAMS FROM EVERYWHERE }I'M ADDICTED TO THE THRILL- - - - - - IT'S A DANGEROUS LOVE AFFAIRIt was that time again; medicine time! Okay, so it wasn't her favorite time invinted ever, but she didn't want to go around and just, be sad. That would get others thinking and what not. She wasn't sure why her doctor was having her take two medicines either. It was kind of stupid to her. Isn't one strong ass medicine enough though? Apparently, the doctor thought she needed some over dosing to help her out.
She got out of bed and walked over to a cabinet located at the front of the bus. She opened it up, took out a plastic cup, took out both the medicine bottles, and filled up the cup with water. She started with the not so stronger one, she had to take two pills of that. She put some water in her mouth, and put one pill in her mouth, and then did the same with the other. She put that bottle away, then opened up the stronger one of the two. She smelled it and it smelled like, pepto bismal or something gross like that. It was starting to get close to empty and would end up having to take her prescription to another doctor for a refill. Great. Because that was always fun.
She turned the bottle to get one of the giant pills out, when she heard footsteps. She just let it pass, but when the door opened and she was now just getting a pill in her hand, she flipped out. She dropped the bottle and pills fell out everywhere. Shit my pants! She got on the ground and furiously tried to pick them all up, but she was a little slow, because she saw shoes walking on to the bus. Fuuuuuck.

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Today was throwing Nicholas off badly. Hangovers are bad, especially when you get a migraine so bloody bad you want to bash your head. Fans outside didn’t help in the slightest. Screaming and cheering was only going to make the mood worse. So, doing the best he could to stay away from the crowd, he escaped to find the bassist from another group on tour, Ayden. It wasn’t long ago that he’d stumbled upon this interesting person. Hell, it was someone that would play his game systems with him. The more people, the more of the challenge. It was too hard to find, it was popular around the world.
Nicholas stopped in place when he heard footsteps walk nearby. What in the hell was that? Looking around him, he couldn’t spot a single being. The dirt path showed no signs of presence. The thought of himself being paranoid came across his mind and he rolled his eyes. Even if it was someone, he wouldn’t do anything about it. So what? The bus of Kickstart My Heart was only about 20 feet away now. It was similar to the one his own band, Pens and Paper, had. The outside wasn’t made to look too flashy, but was built to last through the long drive. It was possible that Ayden wasn’t even in there, but if that was the case he’d just come back some other time.
The slight sound of movement softly passed through a cracked open window on the vehicle. Someone was up, that was for sure. Reaching into his pocket, Nicholas pulled out a new pack of cigarettes he’d bought yesterday and opened it. Then grabbed his lighter in the same pocket and placed a crisp cigarette into his mouth. Holding it between his lips, he flicked the lighter and ignited the end. Lighter now away, Nicholas took a nice long drag, letting his cravings subside. One day he was going to quit, but not anytime soon.
Hearing more noise from the bus in front of him, Nicholas decided to venture in to find out who was actually up. Opening the door, he climbed his way into the home on wheels and found the drummer of the band. He’d never actually talked to the girl much, but for some reason he felt like she rubbed him the wrong way. It didn’t bother him when they wouldn’t converse. Now, he was faced with an interaction that he didn’t expect. Scrambling on the floor, the girl was trying hard to pick up small pill that had fallen. Squatting down, Nicholas grabbed the bottle laying empty on the ground. Taking a quick peek, he saw that it was a prescribed medicine, an anti-depressant. How peculiar. With a questionable look on his face, he looked at the girl, wondering what she would need the medicine for. Nicholas then took another drag from his cigarette, thinking about helping her pick up the meds she’d dropped. He felt a little nervous that she was so jumpy about the pills, so he hesitated before asking if she needed help.

{ FEEL IT COMIN' IN THE AIR AND THE SCREAMS FROM EVERYWHERE }I'M ADDICTED TO THE THRILL- - - - - - IT'S A DANGEROUS LOVE AFFAIRShe saw that it was the drummer to Pens and Paper. He smoked and drank, which Alyx had promised never to do in her life time. After what had happened with her mom and sister. She would never drink after what happened to Josh and her father. Drinkin and smoking just did not mix very well in her past. She had never talked to him much, she didn't even know his name. She thought it had began with an 'N' or something close to it. He had picked up the bottle and was reading the lable. She reached over and took it from him, "Sorry, but I don't think you would want to know what these are for," she said in her clear as day British accent.
After she put all her pills back into the bottle, she put it back up in the cabinet and locked it. She had asked for her own personal cabinet and the others seemed to be fine with it. She sat back on the floor and looked at the brown haired guy. She felt bad for kind of not saying anything like, oh don't worry about it or anything like it. "Okay, I know this may look bad, but don't tell anyone I'm taking meds for depression." She had kept it a well kept secret and intended to keep it that way too. Hopefully this guy wouldn't go around and start spreading rumors. She was clean though. She never tried anything funny like harming herself or others. She wasn't even sure why she was on the stupid medication anyways. It was just a waste of time and money for her step-parents.
She unzipped her jacket and put a headphone back in that had fallen out. Remedy from Seether was playing. She got off the floor and sat on top of the counter waiting for the drummer to say something to her. It felt like forever to see if he would keep this thing a secret or not. Hopefully, he wouldn't ask why she was taking them though. She didn't like telling people her problems, not even Emma. Emma knew she was on anti-depressants, but she hadn't the heart to tell her why. Emma would text her every five seconds like the best friend she is making sure she took her meds and what not. She enjoyed having her there, but she didn't want to put that burden on her shoulders to feel like she needed to check on her.

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • When the girl spoke, Nicholas immediately plunged into the questioned buzzing around his head. Curiousity killed the cat, but a cat has nine lives. So with that thought in mind, he drifted off with some ideas of this peculiar information. Maybe she was affected by something in her past? Or maybe it had to do with family or friends. Nicholas felt the urge to start interogating her about the medicine, since it was his secret to keep. However, no matter how much he knew he shouldn't pry into other people's business, the leverage was hard to resist. Looking over at the locked medicine cabinet that she'd quickly disposed of the bottle in, Nicholas took another drag of his cigarette and let the smoke slowly billow out from between his lips.
"What are you doing with those kinds of pills?" It really didn't matter to Nicholas that it would be a comfortable question anymore. If he was going to have to keep something a secret, he should at least get an explaination. Gossip wasn't his thing anyway, so it wasn't like he was going to go around and spread the news. There were more interesting things going arond the tour than why some girl is taking pills. For a while his mother was prescribed with anti-depressant to help with her anger. There wasn't much faith in them anymore. She could do whatever the hell she wanted anyhow. Nicholas wasn't apart of her life anymore. Even though his step brother was one of his bandmates, he refused to see her and the feeling was mutual.
"You don't have to keep it a secret, everyone one issue or another." Nicholas took another smoke from his cigarette than stuck it outside the slightly opened window to flick off the burnt end. The smoke streamed from his lips as he peeked outside to see if anyone was nearby. For all he knew there was someone on the outside listening to the conversation anyhow. It was bloody easy to get into the band's vehicle. "I'm sure someone knows about it anyhow. You'd have to be a damn good sneak to get around without someone noticing. You more than likely have symptoms when you forget to take them." If Nicholas was pushing buttons, he didn't care. This girl shouldn't be so frizzled over something so small and pointless.

{ FEEL IT COMIN' IN THE AIR AND THE SCREAMS FROM EVERYWHERE }I'M ADDICTED TO THE THRILL- - - - - - IT'S A DANGEROUS LOVE AFFAIRBefore asking her why she had the pills she did, he took out a cigarrette. Discusting. He blew the smoke out and then asked the question. "Why do you smoke? It's discusting and not good for you at all." Alyx didn't feel for people that smoked. She had no centimental feeling for if they started to cough or get sick around her. She felt bad for not feeling bad, but still. It was their own fault for going down the path of no enlignment.
Then he said she didn't have to keep it a secret. "Well, it is my business. If I want to keep it a secret, then I can keep it a secret." This guy was starting to get on her nerves a bit. He then stuck his cigarrette out a window and the looked out of it. Then he started to say that somebody had to know about it somehow. Then he said that she didn't have to be sneaky. And if she forgot to take them, she was more than likely to have symptoms anyways. Okay. Obviously this guy liked to piss people off. "If it's not your business to know something, then you shouldn't be worried about it. The only person that I know that knows I take pills for something, is my best friend on this tour. And I haven't forgotten to take them in six months."
She wasn't so fond of the feeling she got when she forgot to take the pills. All she felt was saddness and iritability. One time she cussed out her step-father for saying something to her. It was not pretty. He had grounded her, but they figured out that she had missed her dose of things. She looked over at the guy again. He was still smoking. "Will you please put that thing out? Those things are cancer on a stick." Smoke bothered her. A lot. It did not look cool, nor smell all that great either. Her friend from middle school said that he liked smoking, but not cigarrettes. He would not date a girl who smoked them because it was discusting. And she had to agree.

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Great. Like Nicholas needed some kid to tell him that he needed to quit smoking. Is it too hard to realize that there are some chemical issues involved with cigarettes and the body? Maybe try thinking about the word addiction. It's quite popular. "Everyone has their own opinion," he just said, staring down at her with slight irritation. "Fortunately for me I like it." Did she think that he was going to change his mind and think it disgusting? She was obviously trying to switch subjects. Nicholas smirked at her disgusted face, taking pleasure in her dislike.
"Half of America is taking the damn things." Nicholas stated to the younger girl. What was her problem anyways. He'd gladly have something as simple as anti-depressants to tell about his past. It wasn't very encouraging to know that he had a mother that didn't want him and a father that feld the day he knew Nicholas was his child. So, sure he thought the wanker to be bloody immature. Who thinks about other people's problems when they have their own? Honestly, he didn't give a shit if she really did tell the world or not, but it'd only get worse if some gossip lover found out about it. Nothing worse than rumors that can be twisted. Maybe she'll find out one day. "Everything happens at least twice. Have you taken any today?" he smirked, wondering if she forgot because she was fumbling with them earlier from his arrival.
Obviously the smoking still bothered, but he only wanted to bug her about it. So with his cigarette in his mouth, he took a drag and blew the smoke in her face. "What? Don't like the smoke?" At her words, Nicholas only laughed. "Crikey! Cancer?!" he asked, putting on a surprised face before rolling his eyes. Everyone knows it can lead to lung cancer. What the fuck is she playing him for, a dipstick? "Of course I know what it can cause, kid." It was stupid that he was even arguing with someone so young. Nicholas didn't know her real age, but by the looks of it she was a minor. Most people can't hide their age, it's just that the useful details on the body are usually ignored. However, she was acting like she hadn't been in the adult world very long. So, he was going to settle with calling her kid.

{ FEEL IT COMIN' IN THE AIR AND THE SCREAMS FROM EVERYWHERE }I'M ADDICTED TO THE THRILL- - - - - - IT'S A DANGEROUS LOVE AFFAIRHe looked like he kind of rolled his eyes sort of. He then commented that everyone had their own opinion, and his was that he liked the stuff. Whatever. She didn't care. If they knew the risks and still did it anyways, then that was there problem when they were laying on their god damn death bed. He mind went to her mom first. She looked like she hadn't eaten in a few months, hooked up to IV's all over, and barely breathing on her own. Josh was ten and she was six. Hannah was about three at the time. That was the last time Alyx saw her mother. She never went back because she couldn't stand the sight of her like that. She didn't know what had happened to the fun, go-lucky person that was her mother.
He then commented on the meds by saying half of America was taking them. "Well, two-thirds of them don't even actually need them." It was true. They lied, bought them, or wrote false persciptions to get them. It was ridiculous and people were killing themselves because of it. Neither one of them said anything for a moment, but then he said something about taking it twice. And added did she. Fuck. While dropping the pills on the floor, she had forgotten about taking the stronger one of the two. She looked at him and then at the locked cabinet. Luckily, it had a built in lock and only a key could open it. She took the key from her pocket and got the medicine she had almost forgotten to take. She put the lid back on it to make sure it didn't spill and got more water. She took one pill and then a big drink of water.
He then blew smoke in her face and she pushed it away with her hand. Her thoughts then went to Hannah. The doctor had told them it had been a risk because their mother had cancer when she had Hannah, but it wasn't so severe when she was born. Then they moved here to get away from the troubles. Hannah was diagnosed with cancer June 20th. What a bitch move. On her damn birthday and she has news that her sister got cancer. Her life was just a big sob story. She died October second when she was eight. For your eleventh birthday we surprise you with news! Hannah has cancer. "Yeah, well, it's ass holes like you that end up giving people cancer from second hand smoke." Alyx didn't care how old he was, she would still argue with anyone about this subject, and drinking.

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Nicholas could see that the girl was getting pissed at his words and actions. Such a short wick. It obviously didn't take much to upset her, or he'd just pushed all the right buttons. If the latter was true, he felt kind of proud of himself. Maybe he'll be able to make her get raging at him. A smirk formed on his lips unintentionally at the thought of pushing to see how fall this fireball would go. People tend to blow up when you constantly poke and prod them in the right areas. Nicholas had some himself, but he'd only hoped that this girl wouldn't know where to look.
"And you think you're one of the chosen few? How old are you anyway?" he asked incrediously. Sure, that's happened before. How did people get through sad times when they didn't have a thing like anti-depressants? They either wasted their lifetime by killing themselves or dealt with the hands they were given. For someone so young, it was stupid to think that she was going to think herself sick because of it. "Grow up kid." Nicholas was getting a little frustrated just thinking about it. He had his own shitty problems, and what does he do? Moves on.
The sight of her opening the previously locked cabinent with a small key only made him feel better about himself. In all the nonsense, at least HE was smart enough to think about it. However, before she popped it in her mouth, Nicholas realized that it wasn't the same pill that she dropped eariler. Possibly two medications? Nicholas' face became serious when he heard someone walk nearby the bus, however, as he listened to the footsteps they slowly disappeared. The girl would probably freak out if someone else would come in here.
"That only does real damage if you're by it all the time pipsqueak." Nicholas rolled his eyes and took another drag of his cigarette, thinking about blowing the smoke in her face again. However, just looked back outside the window and blew it away from her. "Whackers like you who think they know it all....live a few years and you'll understand." It was almost like talking to a wall. Nicholas was an adolescent once and sometimes he tends to act like one now. This young, know it all attitude was just karma kicking him in the arse.
All that arguing was making him thirsty. Remembering back a few nights, he'd gotten some beer for a party and left it somewhere in the fridge in this bus. Manuvering to the fridge door, he found this suspiscions correct when he spotted a half a pack of glass bottled Bud Light sitting in the back bottom shelf. Nicholas gladly picked one out and quickly twisted the bottle cap open with his hands, taking a nice long swig of it. Slowly closing the door with the hand holding his cigarette, he took another drag before settling himself on the couch. He'd wait for Ayden if he had too. Plus, he was having too much fun with this girl.

{ FEEL IT COMIN' IN THE AIR AND THE SCREAMS FROM EVERYWHERE }I'M ADDICTED TO THE THRILL- - - - - - IT'S A DANGEROUS LOVE AFFAIRHe asked if she thought she actually needed them and asked how old she was. He did not need to know how old she was. First of all, apparently her doctor thought the kiddie meds were going to be way to weak for her, so he gave her meds that adults take. Which, didn't really have any bad effects on her. She still thought she didn't need them, but if she felt fine, then, she guessed that meant they were working. "Sorry that my doctor and step-parents think I should be taking them. And you don't need to know how old I am." Wait. She went back to look at her sentence. Fuck. She said the keyterm: step-parents. Hopefully this smoking fool wouldn't notice.
This guy then commented on her second hand smoking thing. Saying it only hurts when you're by it all the time. "Well, this is kind of a tour. People smoke, a lot. And I try to avoid the stench of it as much as possible." He then commented on people who thought they knew everything and said to live a few more years. "And you're not acting like one now?" she asked sarcastically, "God, did you grow up without a female figure or something?" He was sure acting like he either did not have a mother or his mother and him had issues with one another. Either way she wouldn't feel bad now, but later she might feel a little bit of guilt.
He then went over to the fridge and took out a beer. "That gives you brain damage." It can also get you killed. That night she got the phone call from the police was awful. She was in tears for weeks. She didn't even know of any aunts or uncles, grandparents, nothing. Her brother and her father were all she had left and they were taken away by a drunk driver. She swore never to drink anything with alcohol in it. Because she didn't want to be the one to take someone's life. Well, that and plus alcohol just stinks like a mo fo. Everytime she gets a whif of it, she throws up a bit in her mouth. She looked at him then. Cigarrette in one hand and a beer in the other. She rolled her eyes.

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Did it matter whether or not she told him "I'm 16 or 17 years old"? No. It was apparent that she didn't want to give Nicholas any personal information. Yet, as he stood there, listening to her response, she already slipped out something. Step-parents. God, he was so happy he didn't have to deal with that kind of thing. From what everyone says, they are just a pain in the arse. It's only a opinion, but it seems like they run this girl's life which means one thing. That she's a minor. That was something I suppose she didn't think about when she spoke of their authority. Well, he wasn't going to mess with that subject. He'd gotten his information, whether it had been direct or round-about. Checking his cigarette, he realized that it was growing short during the conversation. Nicholas inhaled the contents of the 'cancer stick' and exhaled the smoke in short puffs. Running his hands thru his hair, Nicholas felt some stress leave his body, the chemicals taking some effect. It was well needed.
"Then you should be used to it by now," Nicholas said, smirking down at the girl. It was a little frustrating that he couldn't remember her name. Ayden must have told him at least once, and it's not like names fly around her on tour. It was bound to come to mind. Where did this child get the nerve to call him one? Sure, there were times (especially when he was drunk) that he would goof off. Or even the fact that he loved to play video games. However, he doubted that this kid knew that. She was just judging him like everyone else. That only annoyed him more. At least Nicholas could say he had been a kid that age, this girl wouldn't know what it was like as a 21 year old. For god sakes, she needed to at least enjoy the privleges that came with youth. "You don't even know what maturity is, kid. Don't come preaching to me about being child like."
Nicholas took drag of his cigarette, looking away from the girl. The next words that reached his ears made him freeze. That hit a nerve. Like a volcano erupting after centuries of silence, anger flowed thru his body. Taking a deep breath didn't even help whatsoever. His head started to hurt, like someone had hit him with a metal pipe. All that was running through his head was memories of how his mother's actions effected him. Carmen hated him from the beginning just for being the son of his vanishing father. Then, when he'd found his only father figure, his uncle, then she disappeared from his life as well. Here's the kicker. It wasn't until high school when he found out that he had two half-siblings. God, it just made him angry. Nicholas sent a death glare at the girl. As much as he didn't want to let his weaknesses show, the look came before he could think. That only made him more pissed, this time at himself. When it came to his mother, it was like he had no control over the rage he felt. However, taking a few seconds to try an calm his built up anger. Nicholas just took a drink of his beer and sighed. "You have no right talking about relationships, step-child," Nicholas said, anger still evident in his voice. He shouldn't have said what he did, and maybe he might regret it later, but his head wasn't in the right place at the moment.
Her next sentence was completely ignored. Shit, it was just like smoking. Now she was going to start lecturing about drinking? This was just plain pathetic. Drinking is something that helped him relax, like smoking. It put him in a better mood. However, staring at the beer and knowing the mood he was in, it wasn't going to be pleasant to be around him. He'd have to make sure he didn't drink a lot to worry about his actions. Alcohol usually amplifies the feelings of the drinker so Nicholas would have to be careful. Physical violence wasn't his thing, even while drunk off his ass. It was more like the words that would come out of his mouth that he was worried about.

{ FEEL IT COMIN' IN THE AIR AND THE SCREAMS FROM EVERYWHERE }I'M ADDICTED TO THE THRILL- - - - - - IT'S A DANGEROUS LOVE AFFAIRShe thought about her response then about the step-parent thing. She knew that he would probably use that somewhere in this conversation as a nerve bender or something. She really didn’t care though. Well, maybe she did. She didn’t really know. It was also a secret though. Nobody besides he best friend here knew about the step-parent situation or the pill thing. God. All her secrets were just going out the window today, weren’t they? She felt worried now. What if he said she was the ugly step-child or something like that? She would probably go on a stupid rant on how everyone died and let out more secrets. She could obviously see that this conversation was about to go down the drain, so, she started to plan out what she would say next. If he didn’t say anything about the step-parent thing, then she would continue the conversation, but not say anything else about parents or anything. If he did say something though, that would have to be well thought out though.
She ignored his first comment about being used to it though. It was just stupid and she honestly didn’t care about that any more. She moved on with that. He then said that she didn’t even come close to maturity, and how not to preach to her about being childlike. She turned away from him and took a drink of water. Maybe he would just leave or something. She was really tired of this guy. When the comment about the female figure finally got to him, she said she had no right to talk about relationships, and then added step-child at the end of it. She turned back to him with anger in her eyes, ”Look, my parents did not give me away you ass hole.” She didn’t leak out that they both died though. She was good then. Next go-round though, it would probably leak out by accident. Well, it really depended on the situation though.
She was actually surprised that she didn’t start to break down and cry. Usually when someone brought up like, Father’s Day or something like that, she would start to tear up. Not this time. Not around this guy at least. He was obviously looking for a weak spot and she would not give it to him. The last thing she wanted to do was let this guy make her end up balling her eyes out over something she shouldn’t be really. She had built herself up to withstand crying from anything now. The only thing that made her cry was the date her littlest sister died really.

Her response about not being given away wasn't what he had in mind. The anger that went along with it was just in retaliation, like himself. Nicholas found it frustrating that they were even on the subject of parents. However, he was still in his rage filled slump to care about that now. All that was going through his head was the fact that he was angry for what his parents had done, for what this girl sturred inside of him for making him think about it. He wasn't mad at the girl, she was still a minor for god's sake. It was the fact that he bloody caved when it came to staying calm about the memories. But, was he more mad at himself, or the parents that had abandoned him?
Chugging down the rest of the beer, Nicholas found that he wanted to drink, even if it meant something would happen. No one was stopping him so he just wanted to drown in the hazyness it brings. "Shit, I don't even care if your parents are alive kid." It was honestly the truth. His mind was wrapping him up in his own problems that he didn't care if she was really there. Just as long as she didn't speak. His cigarette was now reduced to a stub, so he flicked the thing outside the window, immediately taking another one out. The lighter flicked quickly as he felt the urgent need to get the chemicals deep into his body. It wasn't going to make him forget, but it was hopefully going to calm him down enough to think things thru more.
Nicholas was starting to wonder if this was a stupid idea from the beginning. Why couldn't he have just called or texted Ayden? This wouldn't have even happened. He would've have to fight down the emotions inside of him. Even just picturing her face is enough to get him reeling. It was hard to imagine after all this time that she still bothered him. "How could someone leave their child?" Nicholas whispered his thoughts angrily, not even noticing he said them aloud. He continued to think about how he'd been taken in by his uncle, his only true parent. That she just left her only son to her only brother, not even keeping any contact whatsoever. Carmen obviously didn't want to know anything about Nicholas, just like his dad who was smart and left him in the beginning. If she was going to spend time with him, it shouldn't have been to yell and be angry toward him for his genes. Enhaling the ingredients of his cigarette, Nicholas wished that it would work faster in his system. As he sighed, the smoke slowly flowed out of his mouth. Glancing at the girl, he wondered if he should just get up and leave.

{ FEEL IT COMIN' IN THE AIR AND THE SCREAMS FROM EVERYWHERE }I'M ADDICTED TO THE THRILL- - - - - - IT'S A DANGEROUS LOVE AFFAIRAlyx became annoyed with this boy. Okay, maybe he wasn’t a ‘boy’ so to speak, but she didn’t really care. She walked to where she had last placed her iPod and plugged a headphone in. Honestly, she didn’t care what this guy did next as long as it had nothing to do with her. She unlocked the little machine and Linkin Park popped up first. Her brother would joke around with her about how she was not allowed to like the bands he did. It was awesome. Then she was like that with her sister half the time as well. But, at least when Josh played his music allowed, she didn’t sing along. Hannah was annoying half the time, but she was family. Even if she couldn’t sing in key ninety percent of the time. She went back to the main screen and locked it. The background picture? The whole family surrounded together in the old backyard in Crawley. She smiled at it and put the iPod in her pocket.
She then heard the ass say something about not even caring if her parents were dead. That struck her in a harsh way. ”Get out now. Obviously, whoever you’re looking for is not on the damn bus at the time. So, Get the fuck off.” Well, how obvious that her parents were dead now? Pretty obvious, but then again, the guy looked a slight bit tipsy. So, if he had heard anything of it, she honestly wouldn’t care anymore. She just wanted him to get off the damned bus and leave her to her business. The next song began to play and she automatically skipped it. Didn’t really feel like listening to On Your Side by A Rocket to the Moon. She thought they were a fantastic band, but not when someone had just mentioned something like that. She felt like stabbing him, but there were no sharp objects around at the moment.
She looked at him and turned her back away from him. Maybe he would just stumble his ass off the bus. Maybe he would fall and hurt himself. Maybe karma would be on her side. If it was, then that would work out very, very well. But no. He just muttered something about how could someone leave their child. That got her interested, but she didn’t really care. ”By keeping their smoking a secret and getting cancer finally and dying,” she whispered to herself. Everyone had a different answer to everything personal, and sometimes the truth hurt like a bitch, but that’s what life is. Alyx had figured out what life is really all about: truth, pain, and misery. Sometimes there was the occasional happiness, but not a lot of it really. She hadn’t known her mother like she wanted to, and her sister, well, yeah. When she told Stephanie what had happened to Josh and her father, well, she cried almost as hard as Alyx did, but a lot harder over Josh. Her life was just miserable and all it brought people was pain. Obviously.

Just sitting in one of the chairs of his friend's bus, waiting for him to get his arse back here. What the bloody hell was the guy doing anyways? The thought of leaving the child to her own thing flittered through his head since he obviously offended her. Only partially intentional. Something in her hand caught his eye and he turned his head to see an i-pod in her hands. Rude much?
However, from the response of his comment she didn't have the music turned up too loud. The defensiveness in her words made Nicholas curious. What had he said that would make her get so riled up? Maybe because he didn't say he cared about her parents? No, that hadn't been it. It must have been something about them being alive. Nicholas thought about that last comment and had an inkling that girl had took that to heart. Common sense, don't listen to the babbling guy if you're going to take it personal. Yet, thinking back, he'd done the same fuckin' thing.
Rolling his eyes, Nicholas stood up from his seat and slowly walked until he was only a foot in front of the girl. Along with age, he was also much taller than her which made him look more intimidating. The words springing from his mouth were matched with a devious smirk. "What are you going to do about it pipsqueak?" Then with a small laugh he turned around and strolled over to the slightly open window again. A lone person walked across the gravel, a meter or so away from the bus he was in. He recognized the guy only slightly, not able to put a name to his face. Nicholas' hand lifted until his cigarette was placed between his lips, his two hands resting in his front jean pockets.
Body still in place, Nicholas looked back at the young girl with raised eyebrows. "So eager to see me go?" Taking in her words, he wasn't as upset by them. Under anger and stress, people say anything. At least she didn't say she was going to kill him herself. Then we might have a problem. Young teens with any built up anger can be dangerous, he knew that well enough. The atmosphere was strained, a mixture of feelings from the two radiating through the bus. Now he was glad no one else was coming into the bus. Letting the silence slice through the conversation, Nicholas finally spoke up again with his austrailian drawl. "Secrets only last so long. You should know that bloody well."
